Extra closes supermarkets in Recife and promotes out of stock; See what’s on offer

NS GPA Group’s strategy to end Extra banner of hypermarkets activities in the country, retail stores in Recife are just a few days away from closing their doors. And to release the stock of products, the chain conducts a nationwide sale with discounts of up to 50%.

Settlement is already taking place nationwide, in all network units over 100, with chances of up to 50% off. Electro, Bazar and Textile products are already available at 50% off in physical stores.

Items will gradually be filtered until units are completely laid off, and for this reason, it is important that customers plan to visit stores and determine which products are available.

According to the retailer, among the opportunities until November 23 are gardening accessories, stationery, and a do-it-yourself category with tools in general; Car accessories all baby care and all the extra costumes.

Grupo Pão de Açúcar has announced the deactivation of 71 additional supermarkets in Brazil. The operations will lead to the emergence of new Assaí stores. In all, of the 103 stores currently open in a hypermarket model, another 32 will be maintained at GPA, of which 28 will be converted into higher profit banners – Pão de Açúcar and Mercado Extra – as well as four abstract stores.

Currently in Pernambuco there are two Extra hypermarkets, as well as another 16 units distributed in brands such as Pão de Açúcar and Mercado Extra (supermarkets). These units continue to operate in the state. Plans presented in “Material Fact” through the GPA include the conversion of existing supermarkets into Assaí units.
