After six days in hospital due to a urinary tract infection, Evaristo Costa was discharged from hospital on Wednesday 17. “Thank you for all the messages of affection, support and prayers,” he wrote on his Instagram account. The journalist was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the digestive system, four years ago. He complained of abdominal pain, diarrhoea, weight loss and fever before going to hospital in Cambridge, UK.
During his days in the hospital, Evaristo shared his routine on Instagram and explained to his followers why he was hospitalized. “My diagnosis of Crohn's disease is relatively new, I discovered it four years ago. It can be seen that I still have not learned how to live with it and control it. But I will get there! I continue my immune resistance on the 'soles of my feet'.”
The broadcaster posted the news of his departure on social media: “I will not leave while the infection is under control according to the latest tests, but I will continue treatment at home with oral antibiotics.” Thank you for all the messages of affection, support and prayers… Thank you for keeping me company during these six days of hospitalization.

In November last year, the journalist was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with erysipelas, a skin infection affecting his leg.
