Elon Musk is suing OpenAI and its president for abandoning the mission

The lawsuit filed last Thursday alleges that Altman and co-founder of OpenAI, Greg BrockmanHe approached Musk about starting a non-profit open source company.

Company focus supported by MicrosoftMusk's lawyers said in the lawsuit filed in San Francisco that making money violates this contract. They added that the company maintained the design GPT-4the most advanced AI model, “in complete secrecy.”

OpenAI, Microsoft, and Musk did not comment on the matter.

Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015 but left the company's board in 2018. The billionaire also runs automaker Tesla and rocket company SpaceX and bought Twitter for $44 billion in October 2022.

Last year, Altman was fired by OpenAI's previous board, which said he was trying to support the company's mission to develop artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity. A few days later, Altman returned to the company after installing a new board of directors.

OpenAI plans to appoint several new board members in March, it posted Washington Post Thursday.
