The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, wrote on Wednesday (8) on social networks that the municipality will not grant a license to show Bruno Mars in the city on October 4. According to Pais, the reason is the proximity to the first round of elections on the sixth of this month.
“The electoral process requires a very large mobilization of civil servants. This mainly concerns the police forces and the municipal guard. To imagine that any major event will take place in Rio de Janeiro (I would say even in Brazil) on the eve of the elections is absurd because of the need to mobilize a large number of these Public employees,” Bice wrote.
“We reported this to the production of Bruno Mars’ show on the same day that the date of October 4th for the show in Rio de Janeiro was announced. However, they sold out the tickets. The city of Rio de Janeiro did not do so and did not grant permission for the said show during the election week.” “If the warnings provided are not enough, let this publication avoid imagining that an irreversible situation will be created outside this period, and it would be an honor to welcome the artist Bruno Mars to the city.”
