Singer Ed Sheeran has been accused of plagiarizing Marvin Gaye’s Let’s Get It song Thinking Out Loud
Ed Sheeran appeared in court in the United States on Tuesday (25/4) to continue the trial in an alleged plagiarism case. The singer is accused of plagiarizing “Let’s Get It On” by Marvin Gay.
The song in question could have been incorrectly reproduced in Thinking Out Loud, Sheeran’s 2014 single. Authorities discuss the “surprising similarities and apparent commonalities” between Gaye and Sheeran’s songs.

According to The New York Times, while listening, the prosecuting attorney, Ben Crump, showed a follower a video clip during a concert in 2014. In the recording, Ed Sheeran mixed thinking out loud with the music of Marvin Gaye. Sheeran responded that he had “mixed one song with another”.
This is not the first case of plagiarism involving Ed Sheeran. In 2022, he also had to testify after a copyright case for the song “Shape of You”, but the judge issued a positive ruling for the British singer.
