The driver lost control, mounted the pavement and invaded a restaurant in the US

The driver, identified as 25-year-old Tobin Ramsey, turned himself in to local police and was arrested on charges of fleeing the scene, panic and reckless driving. His bail was set at U$ 250,000 (R$ 1.2 million, at current prices).

– He lost control, went straight down the pavement of the restaurant and knocked over the awning – a witness told the local press – He did not stop for a second. He got back out, ran the red light and drove off.

The site was closed on Saturday to ensure the safety of customers. However, by 4pm, the kitchen was back up and running. According to restaurant owner John Sielke, security measures are being analyzed to mitigate the damage if something like this happens again.

– We didn’t have any damage to the building, which is very lucky. But as far as the awning and the patio, it’s a total loss,” Zielke said.
