Dominant, Cruzeiro defeats Bragantino, continues good form and holds on to the lead of Group 4 in the Brazilian Championship

Encouraged by the fans, Cruzeiro beat Bragantino on Saturday afternoon (13), 2-1, at the Independencia stadium, in Belo Horizonte, in the 17th round of the Brazilian championship. The goals of the match were scored by striker Gabriel Veron in the first half, and midfielder Matheus Pereira in the final phase. Thiago Borbas scored for the guests in the final move.

With this result, coach Fernando Seabra’s team finished fifth with 29 points and achieved its third consecutive victory. Moreover, the Sky Blues maintained their perfect record as the home team in the Brazilian league, with seven wins.

On the other hand, with the negative result, Bragantino froze in ninth place with 22 points.

Cruzeiro will return to the pitch next Saturday (20), at 9 p.m. (Brasilia time), against Palmeiras, at the Allianz Parque, in Sao Paulo.

Massa Prota will host Atletico PR on Sunday (21), at 6:30 p.m. (Brasilia time), at the Nabi Abi Chedid, in Bragança Paulista.

Cassio was new to the starting lineup, making his debut for Cruzeiro against Bragantino. Before the match, during the warm-up, the number 1 heard shouts of “best goalkeeper in Brazil” coming from the stands.
