A document published by The New York Times revealed details of Donald Trump’s campaign plan to rig the 2020 presidential election.

The plan was to change the outcome of the poll in the swing states where Joe Biden had won. In the American electoral system, voting is indirect and states have different weights in the final count. The voter is represented by delegates who vote from the Electoral College based on the result of the ballot box. To win the election, a candidate must receive at least 270 votes.

The document disclosed on Wednesday (9) is dated December 6, 2020 Campaign strategy to recruit fake delegates in six states to declare Donald Trump the winner.

The second part of the plan was not passed. The idea was that on the day the election result was confirmed, January 6, 2021, Congress would get envelopes with fake votes and envelopes with real votes. Is that Former Vice President Mike Pence, who presided over the session, chose the fake envelopes that would give victory to Donald Trump.

The document was signed by Kenneth Chesbro, one of the former president’s campaign attorneys. In the transcript, he admitted that the plan was a “controversial strategy” and that the Supreme Court would likely reject it.

The document is at the center of a lawsuit filed by the Department of Justice against Donald Trump over his attempt to change the results of the 2020 presidential election. Prosecutors classified it as a criminal conspiracy to rig the election.
