A 53-year-old woman had to undergo emergency surgery last Monday, 7 years old, to remove a giant tube from her intestines, about a meter long and 20 kilograms. The case that won on social media, Thursday, 10, took place in China.

The woman, identified only as Hua, had actually struggled to have a bowel movement for at least five years. After not going to the bathroom for ten days, she sought medical help.

She reported shortness of breath and severe pressure in her chest. Despite her thinness, her belly bulged out a lot. The woman said she could hardly get out of bed because the pain from the swelling in her stomach and intestines was so intense.

Doctors at the First Hospital of East China’s Zhejiang University conducted preliminary examinations and found hard stools in the woman’s intestines. Surgeons at the hospital chose to admit her for an emergency procedure, according to a post by the university on Chinese social network Weibo.

The hardened stool formed a single “snake-like” lump. According to the Chinese press, the woman is doing well after the surgery and is still in the hospital and recovering.
