Novak Djokovic It was confirmed on social media this Wednesday that he will not be attending both the Indian Wells and the Miami Masters 1000 taking place in the US. The system of both events automatically included it in the main parentheses, but the country’s health regulatory body CDC is with the guidelines that require vaccination. The Indian Wells Mortars 1000 organization released a statement on Tuesday stating that it was in contact with Djokovic’s team.
– Novak Djokovic The entry for the tournament is on the list as it is in today’s draw (8). We are currently in touch with your team. However, it has not been decided whether he will get permission from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) to enter the country and attend the event.
However, this Wednesday, on his social media, he explained that he already knew that it would be difficult for a Serbian to be released from the United States.
– Even though I automatically entered the Indian Wells and Miami Open brackets, I knew I could not travel. The CDC has confirmed that the rules will not change so I can not play in the United States. Congratulations to the players who played in these great matches – said Serbian.
In Indian Wells, Djokovic will face either Belgian David Coffin or Australian Jordan Thompson in his first match. The Serbian can still overtake Andy Murray or Alexander Publik. Argentina’s Diego Schwartzman will face the Serbian in the 16th round.
