“Nearly 100 years ago, our company has defined and redefined entertainment, leveraging technology to bring stories to life in deeper and more impactful ways,” Chuckle wrote in the email to the team, adding, “Today, we have the opportunity to connect these universes and create a new paradigm.” Just how audiences experience and interact with our stories.”

Tangle announced last November that Disney was “ready to embark on a journey into metaverses” and confirmed that it would enhance the narrative by bringing together elements from the physical and digital world. He called Metaverse “the next great narrative frontier” and part of the company’s strategic priorities.
What will Disney metaverses look like?
Last year, Disney filed a patent with the US Patent and Trademark Office for a virtual and augmented reality device that works without the need for glasses, headphones, or other digital devices. The approval date was December 28 and anticipates what the company might develop.
With the increasing subject matter of the metaverse, and the need to develop technologies that improve the experience of this universe, the number of patents is increasing exponentially. Last year, Nike filed a patent for applying its trademarks and logos to virtual assets such as NFTs.
“The concept of technology is still difficult to understand why it wasn’t created, but Disney has a unique ability to bring the magic and experience of the physical world into the virtual universe as well,” said Chapek. Also in November last year, Disney released a set of NFTs called Golden Moments that feature virtual assets of various characters from the Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar universe.
