The international press has drawn attention to the Dukes of Sussex, Harry and Meghan Markle, who have been spending generous sums of money to maintain their standard of living in the United States. Sources indicate that a large portion of these expenses will go to maintaining the house in which they live with their two children, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, in Montecito, California.
The residence was purchased in 2020 for $14 million, which is equivalent to about 73 million riyals today. Featuring nine bedrooms and 16 bathrooms, the property's outdoor areas include a large swimming pool, tennis court, chicken coop and rose bushes, as well as a large terrace with a wood-burning stove and barbecue.
“We did everything we could to get this house,” Meghan said of the residence in an interview with The Cut. “Because you come in and you go…there's joy. It's soothing, it's healing, and you feel free.”
The palace has plenty of space for the children to grow up, with a library and office that Meghan revealed in the interview that she and her husband share, as well as a sauna, gym, games room, hallway, wine cellar and parking garage. Five cars. The actress also mentioned that renovations have been done at the property.
Harry and Meghan will also spend a lot to maintain their security, as they must pay between 2 and 3 million dollars, or 15 million Brazilian reals.
