Chief of Staff, Gustavo Rocha, talks about establishing a field hospital in the Defense Forces
The Air Force has authorized the establishment of a field hospital in the Federal Territory to treat dengue cases. This announcement was made by the Ministry of Health during a press conference on Thursday (the first).
There is no date or location yet for the installation of the health unit.
“The GDF alone cannot confront this dengue issue,” said Civic House President Gustavo Rocha.
The ministry also reported that 40% of dengue cases in the capital are concentrated in Cilandia, Sul Nacente and Port do Sul. For this reason, the field hospital must be established near the areas.
In total, six deaths were recorded in the same period. In addition, the department is investigating the deaths of 24 other people suspected of being infected with dengue fever.
The percentage increase in the number of cases compared to the same period of the previous year was 920.5%. The GDF's concern is the excessive burden on the health system.
Areas most affected by dengue in DF
- Sealandia: 3,963 cases
- Sunrise/sunset: 1,110 cases
- Brazil: 1,045 cases

The Ministry of Health confirmed that the Federal Territory will receive doses of Qdenga, a vaccine against dengue fever. Immunization begins in February with children and adolescents between 10 and 14 years old, the age group with the highest number of hospitalizations due to the disease in Brazil.
