Municipal public offices in Blumenau – city council, secretariats, and autonomous institutions – will have different hours during Brazil’s World Cup match days, between November and December this year. The changes were secured by a decree signed by Mayor Mario Hildebrandt and published in the municipality’s Official Gazette.
General municipal business hours will be 8am to 3pm on Games Day starting at 4pm; and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on days when departure begins at 1 p.m.
It should be noted that time changes do not apply to services deemed essential, nor to Blumenau Regional University (Furb). With regard to schools and day care centres, the decree indicates that working hours will depend on the provisions of the school calendar, which must be adhered to.
