When the heart stops beating, the organism begins to decompose until it becomes a pile of bones. But in some cases, depending on certain circumstances, it is possible to preserve the body and sometimes preserve the appearance of the deceased. Such was the case with the body of an elderly woman buried in a cemetery in the Dominican Republic.
The family members were surprised after the exhumation of the body of the grandmother, who died about 10 years ago. Upon seeing the dead body of Margarita Rosario, they are shocked at the condition of the woman.
According to them, the head was still full of hair and the bones solid enough for the body to stand with little support, which is not unusual in ten-year-old corpses.
“Intact and gorgeous skin, as if the years had not passed,” said a family member in an interview with Jam Press content agency.
“She was a good person in life. That’s why she’s still preserved,” said a resident of the Jarabacoa neighborhood of Concepción de la Vega, where the elderly woman lives with her family.
After the agency released photos of the exhumation, many netizens also asked why the rest of the deceased grandmother was interrupted. One of the newspaper’s followers asked, “What is the need to exhume it?”
And although the images were echoed on social media, the family did not reveal the reason for the exhumation of the mother’s body.
It should be noted that in some countries there is a tradition in which relatives dig up the dead and change their clothes.
