The Portuguese coach is counting on the return of the two athletes who served in the selection, but they remain skeptical
After being called up and serving the Brazilian national team in friendlies against South Korea and Japan, midfielder Danilo and goalkeeper Weverton returned to Barra Fonda CT and reintroduced themselves to the squad. Palm trees Wednesday afternoon (8) and with this, the duo can strengthen the team in the next match, in a duel against Botafogo, which will be on Thursday (9), at 19:00 Brasilia time.
Weverton was a starter for Tite’s team in the first friendly match, against South Korea last Thursday (2), but he was on the bench throughout the match against Japan. Danilo, in turn, did not play a single minute in both matches, which angered Palmeiras fans and even press advocates. Upon their return to the academy, the two did a specific training session at the club, separate from the others.
The two’s return to the starting lineup will still be scheduled this Thursday, when Abel Ferreira will lead the last activity before the match, which is already routine in the morning when the games are at night. On these occasions, players limit themselves to physical labor. Already confirmed absences are Rafael Vega with a groin injury and Mike’s side with problems with his right leg and defenders Gustavo Gomez and Benjamin Kocevic.
Both defenders from South America are still in service with their national teams of Paraguay and Chile respectively. With that, a possible lineup for the match could take Palm trees Brazilian Championship captain: Marcelo Lomba (Weaverton); Marcos Rocha, Luanne, Murillo, Bequerez; Gabriel Menino (Danilo), Zee Raphael and Gustavo Scarpa; Ronnie, Dudu and Rafael Navarro (Gabriel Veron).
