Daverson defends Vinicius Jr. After a racist case, I regret insulting football
On his way to the break, player No. 16 Dorado supported the Brazilian striker from Real Madrid and condemned acts of discrimination by the Valencia fans, during last Sunday’s confrontation of the Spanish championship.
– I wanted to say something that has nothing to do with today’s game. Vini Jr has had a very difficult time in Spain. Lots of power over him, may God be pleased with him. He’s having a great tournament with Real Madrid. He is a man for whom I have much affection. Racism is a very ugly thing, and it shouldn’t exist. Lots of power for Vinicius Jr.
Before the ball was rolled, Deverson raised his fist in a gesture of solidarity with the Brazil star.
The striker scored Dorado’s goal against Minas Gerais in the 36th minute of the first. With a header, he completed Fernando Sobral’s cross and scored for the first time in Brazil.
The partial result takes Cuiaba out of the relegation zone. Follow the match in real time by clicking here.
Discussion and applause
Also during the interview, Deverson complained about insults hurled at him by Cruzeiro fans.
– First, thank God for the goal. The guys (Cruzeiro fans) insulted me, these insults are so ugly, son of a bitch *, swear words are ugly. There are children here watching football.
After speaking with a SporTV reporter, the attacker walked towards the fence, spoke to some home fans and was applauded by his opponents (See the video below).
Deverson is cursed by Cruzeiro’s fans, apologizes, and is praised
