With a new addition to the midfield, Cruzeiro is set to face Bahia. The two teams will face each other at 4pm (Brasilia time) on Sunday (23), at Arena Fonte Nova, in El Salvador, in the 11th round of the Brazilian Championship.
Coach Fernando Seabra will send Cruzeiro on the field with: Anderson; William, Z. Evaldo, Joao Marcelo and Marlon; Lucas Silva, Lucas Romero, Ramiro and Matthews Pereira; Gabriel Veron and Robert.
New to the team that beat Fluminense 2-0 in midweek is the addition of midfielder Lucas Romero to the starting line-up. The Argentine was rested due to muscle wear in the last round, but returned to the team for the match against Tricolor from Bahia.
With Internacional’s 1-0 win over Gremio on Saturday, Cruzeiro fell one place in the league table. Al Samawiya team ranks seventh with 17 points.
The Bahia match is considered the famous six-point match, as the host team occupies fifth place, with the same number of points as Cruzeiro, but it has another match.
Cruzeiro has played nine matches so far in the Brazilian league. The Celestial team has one match remaining against Internacional, which is a match in the fifth round. The duel was postponed due to rain in Rio Grande do Sul.
