Of this total, according to the foundation, 76.4 million were processed into Fiocruz and 4 million were imported ready-made from Instituto Serum in India.
Fucruz also announced the start of manufacturing what he called “First batch for pre-validation” With active pharmaceutical ingredients made in Bio-Manguinhos, its vaccine manufacturing unit – that is, 100% of national production.
“Two batches of pre-validation and three of validation will be produced, which will be subject to quality control tests at Bio-Manguinhos and comparability with AstraZeneca.”, informs enterprise memo.
Documents needed to request a vaccine registration change will also be sent to Anvisa, including the new IFA manufacturing site, which is a necessary condition for product delivery to PNI.
According to Fiocruz, projections are that 100% national doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine will begin to be delivered in the last quarter of this year.
