The Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) announced on Sunday the names competing for the 2023 Athlete of the Year award at the Brazilian Olimpico Awards. Ana Patricia Duda (world runner-up in beach volleyball and world ranking leader), Pia Haddad (semi-finalist at Roland Garros in tennis) and Rebecca Andrade (world vault champion in artistic gymnastics) are the competitors. In the men’s category, the competition will be between the world champion in surfing, Felipe Toledo, the top five in the world table tennis rankings, Hugo Calderano, and the leader of the world shooting rankings, Marcos d’Almeida. The winners will be revealed on December 15, at a ceremony to be held in Rio de Janeiro, at the Cidade das Artes.
