Committee of Inquiry into the Attack on Capital 6, 2021, plans to deepen its investigation in the coming weeks, interviewing Donald Trump’s cabinet and campaign aides and members of the U.S. Secret Service, the committee’s vice chairman said Sunday.

During eight testimony hearings over six weeks from former White House and Trump officials, the panel blamed the former president for the attack on Capitol Hill in an effort to stay in office after losing the 2020 election. Trump and his allies overturn the election results.
The committee has not yet decided whether to recommend that the U.S. Justice Department conduct a criminal investigation into Trump’s conduct, Cheney said, “but it’s certainly something we’re looking at.”
