On September 14, in the season from Thursday to Sunday, from 7 pm, Cesc Copacabana will host the musical show “Ninas”. The show, which includes a cast that includes Seda Moreno, Ana Paula Black, Fabio Delice, Roberta Ribeiro, Tati Christine, Kathleen Lima (piano) and Regina Caffe (percussion), narrates the path of Nina Simone, a black civil rights activist. In the United States, he was born in 1933 in Tryon, North Carolina.
A highly influential singer in jazz and soul, including blues, folk, gospel, R&B and pop. The genius artist with the hoarse voice and the unique and velvety timbre of the major international black stars who made history in music lived in the south of France, where she died in 2003 at the age of 70, after a long struggle with breast cancer.
The scenes also reveal the different stages of Nina Simone’s life. According to Seda Moreno, author, arranger and producer of the project, the piece emphasizes the importance of the singer as a representative and activist for black women and artists, in order to promote black identity.
