Central Bank Reports Data Exposure of 8,000 BTG PIX Keys

The Central Bank (BC) reported, on Thursday (15), in Brasilia, the leakage of personal data related to 8,032 Pix keys belonging to Banco BTG Pactual clients, due to accidental malfunctions in the institution’s systems. The information was exposed between July 23 and August 5 of this year.

According to BC, no sensitive data such as passwords, transaction information, financial balances or other information subject to banking secrecy was exposed. The bank also stated that it had immediately restricted access to this information.

“BTG Pactual confirms that there has been no breach of any of the bank’s systems, and that no sensitive data, such as registration data, passwords and other confidential data, has been exposed.
