CEBAL celebrates another Science and Technology Week, until the 23rd | Radio Foz da Planici – 104.5FM

From today until the 23rd, Science and Technology Week is celebrated in Portugal, and the Alentejo Center for Agricultural Biotechnology and Agri-Food (CEBAL) is once again linked to these celebrations, with the aim of bringing science to society. With a focus on promoting culture and scientific and technological transfer in Portugal, CEBAL is marking the celebrations with two seminars and a webinar.

In this year’s programme, CEBAL celebrates the dissemination of science through the “Technology Transfer for Land Valuation” initiative, which is divided into two seminars, and another session of the “Umm Diya Com…” initiative, in the form of a webinar, which takes place today, as well On the 22nd and 23rd.

“The two seminars aim to discuss the importance of transferring technology and scientific knowledge between R&D institutions and different audiences in the region, with a focus on the livestock production, agroforestry and agri-food sectors. The webinar addresses the topic of the circular economy, with “the use of by-products and industrial waste as raw materials for the production of biofuels.” “, explains CEBAL’s press release.

Friday’s seminar – “Promoting the Use of Agro-Industrial Co-Products in Animal Feed” – begins at 2pm, at the Southern Farmers Association (ACOS), in Beja. “The session will focus on transferring knowledge on the use of surplus raw materials from agro-industrial processes (co-products) in animal feed, and sharing the results of research activities as well as experiences from companies that already apply agro-industrial co-products in their production practices,” the organization’s document said.

This session takes place within the scope of the conference session – “Industrial Agricultural Products and Animal Feeds – for Circular Animal Production”, which is also said to be developed in person after two years of sessions in an online format.
