The University of Cambridge in the UK has selected 50 new students in its first class Ready-made project Called the Cambridge Foundation Year, it provides a free path for candidates who experience academic and social disabilities each year and demonstrate the ability to pursue a degree in the arts, humanities or social sciences.

The one-year Cambridge Foundation annual preparation course is aimed at new students who have the requirements to succeed at university, but are prevented from achieving their full potential due to their circumstances. The aim is to give them the opportunity to progress directly to the Cambridge degree upon completion of the prep course.
Thanks to a 5 million grant from philanthropists Christina and Peter Dawson, the university is able to offer a free curriculum to 50 students each year.
The program aims to reach out to applicants who have dropped out of their families due to health issues, among other educational and social issues. Basically, students with academic disabilities and, because of that, cannot compete through the university’s standard selection process for a place at the Cambridge undergraduate degree.

The first prep class will begin their study in October 2022 after the exam process UCASInterviews and assessments to identify needed needs.
In total, there were 267 candidates for the pilot program Foundation yearApproximately five per vacancy, which is comparable to the number of applications the university typically receives for its degrees (six per vacancy).
Choose Foundation year 120 UCAS points will be required.

Admitted students came from a variety of backgrounds and across the UK, as well as a variety of ages, including seniors. They will study at one of Cambridge’s 13 faculties and have access to all the services and facilities that are part of the university’s learning experience, making it one of the top five in the world.
The course will feature a diverse curriculum in the arts, humanities and social sciences, as well as challenge and prepare students for graduation at Cambridge.
The university also wants to offer preparatory courses STEM Areas.
And after completing the preparation?
Upon successful completion Year Cambridge was foundedStudents will receive a qualification Higher Education Certificate (CertHE) From the University of Cambridge.
With the right results, they can advance to a degree in arts, humanities and social sciences at Cambridge without having to re-apply to university.
In addition, if they do not want to pursue or do not have the academic ability needed to graduate from Cambridge, they will also receive support for finding places at other universities.
