The BYD Qin is one of the oldest models of the Chinese brand, having been born in 2012 as a clone of the Toyota Corolla, but as of 2018, it has acquired a completely new second generation and far removed from the Japanese product.
Now, BYD is preparing the Qin L, a mid-size hybrid sedan that will soon be launched in China and could come to Brazil as an anti-Corolla sedan with a PHEV proposal similar to the BYD Song Plus.
Appearing under camouflage, the BYD Qin L will use a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, which will be part of BYD's fifth-generation DM-i hybrid technology.
The BYD Qin L will have lithium iron phosphate batteries with a capacity of 10.08 kWh or 15.87 kWh, ensuring a range of up to 60 km or 90 km respectively.
Also known as DHT, the hybrid system is rechargeable from an external source, leaving the electric motor free to move the car, and the combustion engine practically working on its own to power the cells as well as the electric motor.
With a proposal that should easily exceed 1,000 kilometers of autonomy, the BYD Qin L will also be eye-catching with its streamlined and modern design, with a fastback-style body, unprecedented, as all previous cars were sedans.
With expressive lines at the front, with large pointed full LED headlights, as well as a huge mouth with a design resembling a sly smile, like the local new Volkswagen Bora, the Qin L will also have a high rear end with full LED taillights. .
Inside, the space will contain a central multimedia screen with a swivel system, as well as a digital cluster measuring 10 inches or more, as well as a console with a diamond-shaped gear selector.
The BYD Qin L could cost less than the BYD Song Plus and is aiming for the Corolla Hybrid, costing between R$180,000 and R$200,000.
