Brita Gil talks about the success of her lumpectomy
And singer Britta Gill, on Tuesday (22), left the intensive care unit after undergoing surgery, and said on social media that she was free of cancer cells.
And Britta underwent surgery to remove a tumor in her intestines last Wednesday (16th) at the Syrian Lebanese Hospital in the central region of São Paulo. She is now in semi-intensive care and has recovered from cancer.
“Darlings, I have waited for a long time to be able to come and talk to you today. The surgery was very successful, complicated and wonderful, but only yesterday we got the final result of it. (…) And the result was yes, my body is free from cancer cells and the operation was a success And we removed the tumor completely with a margin, and this means that my body is free of these cells at the moment, but he said that the treatment is a process.
“Healing is a process, and healing still includes the rehabilitation I have to do in order for my sphincter to work, for example. [de ileostomia] For three months, then I reverse it, it is temporary and I will continue to take care of myself, taking care of healthy habits so that this disease does not come back. I am so happy and so grateful for my doctors, God, and my family. To my fans, to my friends, to the people who don’t know me and send my prayers from every corner of this world. It was a very powerful thing. He added, “I am sure that with chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery, love has also healed me.”
Britta’s son, singer Francisco Gil, posted a photo shortly after saying he was going from Rio to Sao Paulo: “I work and bring my little girl.”
On Sunday, she said that in addition to the tumor, doctors also removed her uterus. This procedure is known as a total hysterectomy. According to the artist, the surgery was extensive and complex and took more than 14 hours.
The singer said, “Now every day is a day!!! Today I managed to sit still and I’m still here fighting. God is fine!!!🤍✨”.
The latest medical bulletin for Brita Gel was issued by the hospital on Thursday (17). In it, the medical team stated that the surgery was uneventful and that the singer was awake in a “good general condition” and “with normal clinical indicators” in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Moments before the operation, Brita posted on her personal page that she is calm and confident in the doctors.
“I will now have an operation to remove the tumor. Here I am surrounded by love, with my son Francisco Gil, by my side and many friends and family, I am grateful and calm, very confident in the doctors, oh God.” Right, I will receive energy and positive vibes from you, pray for me.”
The post received hundreds of comments from celebrities, including Yvette Sangalo. “Santa Dulce is with you ❤️ I love you,” the singer wrote.

“I was very resigned. I understood from the first moment that life was giving me a sign of something. I never thought this was the thing that would bring me down. I understood that this was the thing that would change me,” he said.

Britta recalls that the symptoms began to appear when she was celebrating the life of her father, Gilberto Gil, at the age of 80, on an international tour. “I got sick at two shows. I couldn’t do a show in Berlin and a show in England.”
