Located in Campinas, within the city of São Paulo, Ilum School offers 40 course places, half of which are reserved for public school students. In addition, the Foundation provides support to the dependents, including housing, food, transportation, English language courses, and a laptop with the necessary software for academic activities.
The school highlights that it seeks to ensure equal access to all future scholars, removing geographical barriers by ensuring student passage to the beginning of the university course.
The selection process is divided into three stages: registration and expression of interest, verification of scores on the National Secondary School Examination (Enem) and individual online interview. During registration, applicants answer questions about student life, high school extracurricular activities, interest in science and technology, and course-related expectations. Next, Enem’s scores will be checked and the top 100 rated will move on to the final stage, which consists of individual online interviews.
Selected students will have access to laboratories equipped with the latest technology and will be able to attend CNPEM laboratories, including the Sirius particle accelerator, considered the largest and most complex scientific infrastructure ever built in Brazil. Ilum Director, Adalberto Fazio, highlights that students will receive interdisciplinary training, based on active teaching techniques and projects linked to current topics at the frontiers of knowledge.
Therefore, for those wishing to participate in this unique training opportunity in science and technology, Ilum provides an innovative learning environment and an enriching experience for those who aspire to pursue a career in the scientific field.
