Marcos Praz did not approve of the referee’s behavior in a controversial move
Flamengo tied 1-1 with Palmeiras, Saturday (08), in the 14th round of the Brazilian Championship. During the duel, Rubro Negro complained about a penalty on Everton Ribeiro, in the second half, after a push from Richard Rios. Mais Querido’s vice president of football, Marcos Praz, posted the move on social networks, disapproving of the referee’s behavior of not awarding a penalty.
The move came in the 32nd minute of the second half, when Everton Ribeiro received a pass at the end line and received a push from Richard Rios inside the area. The video assistant referee reviewed the play but did not recommend a review. The Red-Black players complained to Ramon Abatti Abel, however, the person in charge of refereeing did not indicate a penalty.
It is worth noting that Marcos Praz was not the only Flamengo manager to complain about the penalty not being awarded on social media. Fla’s Director of External Relations, Cacau Cotta, also commented on the show: “No crying or imitation here, but it’s bad for the Brazilian Football Confederation And mainly for continued competition in the way they run things.”
With the penalty not scored, Flamengo equalized with Palmeiras and reduced Botafogo’s now seven-point advantage. Rubro Negro is second in the national championship with 26 points, along with Grêmio, who entered the field on Sunday night (09), against Botafogo, the leader of Brazil, with 33.
From now on, Flamengo will focus on the match against Atlético-PR, next Wednesday (12), which will start at 9:30 pm (Brasilia time), for the return of the Copa do Brasil quarter-finals. The darkest confrontation will be broadcast online, on YouTube. Rede Globo will also show, on open TV, the duel.
