Jose Bonifacio de Oliveira Sobrinho, better known as Boni, fell ill on a flight from Florida to Rio de Janeiro
Jose Bonifacio de Oliveira Suprinho, Known to the public as BoniShe contracted the disease during a trip between the United States and Brazil this week. The executive received first aid while on the plane, forcing him to make an emergency landing to take care of him. His health condition is still uncertain.
The first information comes from Veja magazine on Monday (10). Bonnie was in Miami and took a flight to Rio de Janeiro, but started feeling ill shortly after takeoff. The information was confirmed by the personal secretary of the former CEO of Globo, in a statement to the magazine.
The plane also landed in Orlando, Florida. Bonnie has been taken to a city hospital, and there is no information about his current health condition. But the magazine described the situation as “critical”. Boninho has also not officially spoken about his father’s case, nor has he posted on social media.
Boni is one of the creators of Brazilian TV. In the 1970s he was responsible for implementing what became known as the “Globo Quality Standard”, which made the station rise dramatically in audience. He left the Carioca channel at the end of the nineties, and began to devote himself to personal projects.
