It wasn’t long ago that we showed off the beginning of Bloodborne emulation on the ShadPS4 emulator, which was still far from working satisfactorily. But now, just a few days later, the emulator developers and modding community have actually done just that. They have turned the game into a playable game, but with the graphics still subpar.
BrutalSam is a fan of showing developers’ tests and their own emulator tests using Fromsoftware. Until recently, the videos posted showed graphics with a lack of detail in textures and the absence of shadows and lighting.

now, With re-shadingBloodborne looks better, but it’s still far from the original score running on PS4. Not only that, but they’re running the game at 1440p and 120fps with some dips, as well as at higher resolutions like 1440p.
In the video above, this high FPS was achieved using a GeForce RTX 4080, Intel Core i5-12600K, and 32GB. With a much simpler configuration, a GTX 1080, Ryzen 7 2700X, and 16GB, it is also possible to exceed 60 FPS in the section tested.
Bloodborne on emulator still needs graphics care
This gameplay was recorded without re-shading, showing a very raw result, so to speak, with scenes without proper details and colors, lack of visual effects, dark character and enemy, without details and colors.
The video below shows the ShadPS4 emulator running Bloodborne on different configurations. It can be seen that there is still a lot of work to be done on the visual side, as well as stabilizing performance and eliminating frame rate fluctuations.
As for the visuals, this is something that is already under development by the modder. com.fromsoftserveResponsible for the graphics mods for Dark Souls. He is already working on this aspect of the Bloodborne game for the emulator.
Apparently, the gameplay actually flows naturally. In these recent videos, there are no physics issues, all the animations happen as they should, and this is important for the game’s “playable” status in the emulator.
This is a clear response to Sony’s lack of positioning with FromSoftware’s game, which is 10 years old in 2025 and is still stuck on PS4, although it is playable on PS5, but not as it should be with the appropriate patch or release for the device.
There is no doubt that Bloodborne for PC, through emulation, will deliver a better result than the original version, and this is something we often see in games that are run on emulators.
