The US president said it was “predictable” that Liz would be forced to abandon the Truce plan.
The US president has slammed the British prime minister’s economic plan for the country as “a mistake”, in an unusual criticism of domestic policy by one of his closest allies.
“I’m not the only one who thinks it’s wrong,” he told reporters during a stop in Oregon to promote Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tina Kodeck, as Democrats face criticism from Republicans over economic policy.
“I think at this point the idea of cutting taxes on the rich … I don’t agree with the policy, but that’s for England to make, not mine.”emphasized.
For Joe Biden, it is “predictable” that new British Prime Minister Liz Truss will be forced to abandon plans for aggressive tax cuts without identifying cost savings, a proposal that has sent shockwaves through global financial markets.
On the other hand, the US president expressed concern that the fiscal policies of other countries would harm the US in the context of “global inflation”.
Biden said he was not concerned about the strength of the dollar, which has hit new highs against the British pound in recent weeks. The level of the US currency favors imports, but makes the country’s exports to the rest of the world more expensive.
“I worry about the rest of the world,” he said.
“The problem is the lack of economic growth and sound policy in other countries,” the US president said.
