The BH Instrumental project, which has been promoting instrumental music in the capital of Minas Gerais for 20 years, will hold its final edition of 2023 on Saturday (16.) Recently, he has dedicated himself to the Hip-Hop Machine Project, calling on names such as Zodzilla, Freud, Yuen, Karol Konka and Robin Hood, to do new reinterpretations of the classics of the genre.

In the quartet, Gandelman is accompanied by Eduardo Farias (piano), Andre Vasconcelos (double bass) and Cassius Theberson (drums).

The collection includes tracks from his original project released in 2014, with reinterpretations and improvisations. Manassis graduated from UEMG and Universidade Livre de Música Bituca, took courses at Berklee College and earned a master’s degree from UEMG. He is accompanied by Leo Pires (drums), Loadson Constancio (piano and keyboards) and Harrison Santos (saxophone).

Pedro Gomez Quintet He brings jazz compositions influenced by Afro-Brazilian culture. The guitarist is a representative of the new generation of instrumental music in Minas Gerais and winner of the BDMG Instrumental Prize in 2021. He released his first album in 2021 entitled “U” with Tulio Araújo. At the festival, he plays with Paolo Froese (drums), Augusto Cordero (guitar), Breno Mendonça (saxophone) and Evandro Canuto (piano).

Rare extravagance The night ends with “ÀGÒ,” a show focusing on Afro-Brazilian music. The pianist, composer, arranger, and singer earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees in music from UFMG, where she also works as a teacher.
