Contract renewal, although only made official in the past few days, was a promise the player received shortly after he suffered a ligament injury in his right knee in October 2022, against Fluminense.

While he was still crying on a stretcher in Timao’s dressing room at the New Kimica Arena, he was comforted by the president Duilio Montero Alves, who told him at that moment that he could rest assured, as his contract renewal was guaranteed. The deal was actually reached ten months later.

The treatment period was tough every day at CT Joaquim Grava, but also outside of it.

Under the management of agent Carlos Leite, the player parted ways with the businessman and began to represent his interests directly with the club. And with the possibility of signing a pre-contract with other teams, he was severely harassed by Cruzeiro, who tried to sign him for free for the 2024 season.

However, in August, he accepted terms proposed by Timão and returned to action, scoring his first goal in the second leg in a 1–1 draw against Cruzeiro, for the Brazilian League. The second, by the way, could have come off in a 1-0 win over Estudiantes de Sol Americana in a clear opportunity that he missed.

And in the club since 2019, Mosquito has played 140 matches with Corinthians, during which he scored 17 goals.
