Banco do Brasil announces a R$260 billion harvest plan for 2024/2025

Banco do Brasil (BB) unveiled on Friday (5) the largest Safra plan, allocating R$260 billion for the 2024/2025 cycle, an increase of 13% compared to the previous year. The plan includes R$50 billion for family farmers and medium-sized producers, and R$142 billion for corporate agriculture. R$119 billion will be allocated to financing, R$44 billion to investments, and R$29 billion to marketing and processing.

Interest rates range from 0.5% to 6% per year for family farming (Pronaf), from 8% to 10.5% for medium producers (Pronamp), and from 7% to 12% for large producers. BB also highlighted its support for producers affected by the floods in Rio Grande do Sul, where R$60 million in emergency credits have already been contracted.

Tarsiana Medeiros, President of BB, emphasized the bank’s commitment to the agricultural sector, highlighting the 17% increase in payments in the last harvest, totaling R$230 billion. Luiz Gustavo Braz Lage, Vice President of Agribusiness and Family Farming at BB, highlighted the progress made by the plan, placing Brazilian agriculture at the forefront of the world.

Furthermore, BB has intensified its presence at agricultural fairs and events, accepted more than R$15 billion in financing proposals and promoted training and good practices through the BB Business and Training Circles.
