The renovation required an investment of R$ 100 million by December 2022. According to the company, with the joint expansion with Azul, the airport will have a weekly flight from Azul to Curaçao and three weekly flights to Fort Lauderdale in the first half of 2023, as well as twice-weekly connections from the mining capital to Araxá. .
