The change in Cruzeiro’s technical leadership raised doubts among the fans, especially regarding what had changed in the team with the departure of Paolo Pizzolano and the arrival of Pepa, the name. In an interview in Toca da Raposa II, Mateus Vital spoke about the effect this change had on the celestial representatives.
From a midfielder’s point of view, there is one point that cannot be changed, no matter who coaches Cruzeiro, and that is the strength that the players bring to the matches.
“I learned a lot from Pizzolano. I think the group of players who just arrived at the club learned a lot (from him). Then there was this change in leadership (the coach). Every coach has his own idiosyncrasies, and Pippa has shown that. The issue of intensity is what football demands. Today, so (highlight) he won’t get away with it.”
“Only with this high intensity will you be able to win matches and thus perform well in competitions. Changing coaches changes things in leadership, in the way you work and play, but the issue of intensity is what football demands. We can’t escape too much from it.”
Cruzeiro’s next challenge is Thursday (13/4) against Nautico. The first leg of the third stage of the Brazil Cup will take place at 7 pm, at the Estádio dos Aflitos, in Recife.
After the confrontation with Tiempo, Rabosa will stay another day in the capital, Pernambuco, and then travel directly to Sao Paulo, where he will face Corinthians. The match is valid for the first round of Brazil and will take place on Sunday (16/4), at 4 pm, at the New Quimeca Arena.
