ANS registered 19,200 complaints against health plans in July

The number of complaints from health plan users registered with the National Agency for Complementary Health (ANS) rose 7.2% in July, compared to June, according to a bulletin released today (23) by the regulatory agency. Complaints totaled 19,222, the third highest in the historical series, after only March (19803) and May (19526) in 2022.

Among the complaints, 268 are related to COVID-19 cases, which is a 36.5% decrease compared to the previous month. About half of these complaints (49%) relate to difficulties in conducting examinations and treating the disease.

According to the ANS, 90% of registered complaints can be resolved by mediating a dispute.

The data in the Covid-19 Bulletin – Complementary Health, released today for the last time, according to the ANS, which assesses the scenario is a decrease in cases of disease and a stabilization of the analyzed parameters.

Compared to the previous year, looking at the numbers for May, RT-PCR registered a decrease of 69.4%, and antibody tests down 7.94%.

The number of beneficiaries has maintained the growth trend observed since July 2020 and continues to approach 50 million, with 49.8 million, the highest in a historical streak.
