“In this session, we received about 120 projects, while in the last session there were about 90 projects. The aim of the program is to support university students, through the award of scholarships and seat fees, to develop projects of interest to the secretariats, sub-secretariats and other bodies of the City Hall. “Mais Ciência aims to stimulate the scientific and extension profession, train new researchers in higher education institutions, and clarify research and activities with the necessary requirements for the process of social and economic development in the municipality,” Leonora explained.

There will be 54 scholarships worth R$ 700.00 per month, in addition to the supervising professor seat fee of R$ 1,500.00. “This year we also increased the value of scholarships. 16 spontaneous applications and 38 stimulated projects were selected according to the needs of the public administration.”

Important issues for the development of the city are addressed, such as: participatory survey of pineapple cultivation in the camp and the role of social and cultural components; In Search of New Ways of Care: Implementing Art Therapy in Psychosocial Care Centers of Campos dos Goytacazes – RJ; Camping Childhood: Protection and Participation of Young Children; Study on the importance of integrating bicycle and bus: an approach that takes into account the presence of a bicycle on board; Mapping buildings in areas at risk of coastal erosion on the waterfront in Campos dos Goytacazes; Public transport user satisfaction survey of Campos dos Goytacazes: access to courses and universities in the municipality; and training of teachers from the Campos dos Goytacazes municipal network in implementing and managing school gardens.
