Influential Bahia Eduardo Santos He was the guest of Live Fervo das Cores this Thursday (23). During the conversation with reporter Elson Barbosa, the broadcaster talked about what it means to be diagnosed with HIV and the impact it has had on his life.
Known for speaking out on a range of issues related to the LGBTQIAPN+ community, Eduardo has used his space on social media to raise awareness about the lives of people living with HIV and demystify prejudice.
“I talk a little bit about my daily life. When I go to take my jelly beans, which is what I call the pills, I show them to the audience and say: [demonstro] How can you live a completely normal life? [com o vírus]said the influencer.
Eduardo was diagnosed with HIV 3 years ago, and explained the main difficulties he faced at the beginning of his treatment.
“It was something complicated, strange and unusual. 3 years ago I was living abroad [da Bahia] And I came to Salvador to do work during the carnival. I went out with a friend, and 3 days before the carnival started, I saw a prevention flyer [contra o HIV] And I went to take the test. My friend left very happy with the test, and my friend and I left already knowing he was positive,” Eduardo says of the discovery.
A series of questions came to Eduardo’s mind after the diagnosis. Misinformation and bias have led to the influencer experiencing a series of mental health issues. So, he asked for more information about the topic and it was this clarification that prompted him to produce content on the topic.
