Lily Allen, 38, said her daughters influenced her to move to the United States. The star detailed the situation on Thursday (14) after suggesting that the girls had ruined her career.
The singer noted that the country is more encouraging regarding this profession. “One of the reasons I moved here is because of the more encouraging environment in which my daughters can thrive,” she explained on her podcast.
She used her own case to illustrate: “An example of this is when I decided to do a play, even though I had no acting experience. And when I told Americans about it, they always said: ‘Oh my God, this is so exciting.’” You will learn a lot And you’ll have a blast!’”
According to her, the same did not happen in the United Kingdom. He pointed out, “When I told the British, they said: A play? Have you done that before? Aren’t you afraid? Culturally, we are different.”
Lily Allen has two daughters with businessman Sam Cooper. Ethel Cooper, 12, and Marnie Rose Cooper, 10, are the result of their relationship that ended in 2018. Two years later, she married Stranger Things actor David Harbour.
He recently claimed that his daughters ruined his career. “I mean I love them both, and they complete me, but as far as pop stardom, they’ve ruined everything. It really bothers me when people say you can have it all, because you can’t,” she said. (fullpress)
