A woman who was to live 15 years with her father’s body has been found dead in Portugal

The authorities in Portugal found the bodies of a father and a daughter inside the family’s apartment, in the village of Linda-a-Vilha, in Oeiras, last Sunday afternoon (16). The discovery occurred after neighbors alerted the police to the stench wafting out of the property, which appeared to be deserted.

But the surprise happened when it was discovered that the two had died far from each other, as the two bodies were in different stages of decomposition. The 60-year-old woman had died at least five days ago and was in the living room, while the man had been embalmed more than a decade ago and was in one of the bedrooms.

The information raised suspicions that the woman may have lived with her father’s body in the house for more than 15 years before she died. According to a neighbor, the most purchased item by the owner of the apartment, in addition to mineral water, was bleach, and there were complaints about the smell of the product coming from the property.

As a result, the police suspected that the substance was used to mask the odor of the woman’s father’s corpse. But so far, authorities have found no evidence of foul play.

At the scene were agents of the volunteer firefighters of Dafondo with three cars, police of the Portuguese Public Security and agents of the Judicial Police. The investigation is ongoing.
