A woman attending high school at 29 because of loneliness

Hyejeong Shin, a 29-year-old woman, was charged with using false documents to register as a high school student in New Jersey and attend classes for four days. On Monday, a state judge ruled that she could participate in a pretrial intervention program.

Chen had already pleaded not guilty in March to charges of providing a false government document. She revealed her desire to make new friends in the school environment, and recognized the mistake and tried to correct it.

As part of the process, Shane will undergo a mental health evaluation. If she successfully completes the pre-trial intervention programme, the charge against her can be dropped.

A South Korean woman attends school because she is lonely

According to the defense attorney, Hyejeong Shin is a South Korean citizen who came to the United States alone at the age of 16 to study at a private boarding school. After the semester, I graduated from Rutgers University in 2019. These details provide context about Shane’s trajectory and educational experience prior to the incident in question.

According to the lawyer, Hyejeong Shin had no malicious intentions when enrolling in New Brunswick High School in January this year. Her motive was simply to return to a safe and welcoming environment, a place she remembers fondly.

The authorities revealed that Shin obtained the phone numbers of some of the students who helped her identify the school and continued to send them text messages even after discovering her false registration, which was not viewed favorably by the authorities.

After the case was discovered, the South Korean woman was banned from entering the school and officials advised the students to avoid any contact with her.

According to the authorities, Shin presented a fake birth certificate when enrolling in the institution, which was not noticed by the school administration. It is important to note that the school district has approximately 10,000 students, and this incident has affected the school environment and student safety.
