The safety recall will affect the following models: Brinkley Step in dark blue; Breeze step in dark blue. Breeze step in dark blue/white; Breeze Step in dark navy blue; Breeze Ave in dark navy blue; Brinkley Ave in dark navy blue; Brinkley Shore in dark blue. and Breeze Shore in dark blue.
This safety recall is being made because tests on some samples of these shoes have identified excessive levels of the chemicals benzidine or dimethoxybenzidine, which are found in Azo dyes and are restricted in some jurisdictions. Prolonged, direct contact with the upper material of the shoe may expose the wearer to these toxic chemicals that can cause adverse health effects.
Clarks has notified all relevant regulatory authorities as appropriate and is launching a full global recall of affected models. Any other color of the listed models or any other Clarks products are not affected by this issue or are included in your return.
