A group of 100 protesters managed to wreak havoc on Arto Ash, the home court of the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center complex in New York, during the US Open semi-final match between local Coco Jove and Czech Karolina Muchova.
The match was stopped when the American team was victorious, with a score of 6/4 1/0, and the demonstrators began chanting slogans and speaking out against the use of fossil fuels.

Championship security intervened, but one of the demonstrators stuck his feet to the floor of the stands, which necessitated calling the police.
The tennis players were removed from the court and the stoppage lasted 30 minutes.
