A retired orthodontist named Dr. Brian Eberhart was living his monotonous routine when he met a puppy and fell in love instantly.
The dog, named Elliot, was in a temporary home in the case of neighbor Brian, when their paths crossed, the man devised a plan to adopt him. Elliot is a Border Collie, and he’s arrived at the animal shelter Palm Springs Animal Shelter In California, the United States, she’s shy and utterly scared.
The pup went to a temporary home, to receive more attention during that sad moment of abandonment and rescue. Then the two met. “Eberhart’s neighbor was Elliot’s caretaker, so he had already met Elliot while he was in the process of adoption and had the opportunity to meet him and fall in love with him.”said Anthony Mercurio, Director of Marketing and Communications at the shelter dodo.
So when the pup finally came back to the shelter and was put up for adoption, the orthodontist knew exactly what to do to make sure he was taken home.
The man decided to camp in front of the shelter since eight in the morning, and it turned out that the shelter did not open before one in the afternoon, so he had to wait many hours until he did not come home empty-handed.
That morning, the employees were surprised when they got to work and found him sitting in a chair, reading a book, near the front door. The future guru would wait all the time in the world as long as he adopted Elliot.
When the time finally came, their meeting was amazing. The Border Collie puppy loved seeing who was waiting for him there, and he acted as if he was meeting a great friend.
A video of the wait Brian had to go through was shared on Tik Tok in the shelter and has racked up over 4 million views, 817,000 likes, and 3,693 comments.
“I’m not trying to be weird, but if I were a dog, that’s the kind of guy I’d adopt. One netizen commented.
“Camping outside the shelter is pure parenting energy!!” he said again.
“That’s very nice of him. I’m sure the dog will be pampered.”
That day, the orthodontist achieved his goal and Elliott came back with him. Now the puppy is called Leo. In English, it is an abbreviation of “love each other”, which basically means that one loves the other, that is, it is mutual.
In addition, Leo got a space on the teacher’s social networks. Brian is very proud of the little boy and loves to brag about him in front of his followers and other netizens. The shelter staff are happy to be able to continue their journey.
The puppy learns to swim and also loves to take a walk with the teacher. Furthermore, he also acquired a very lazy brother.
