A female dog has been rescued after her former owner painted her with swastikas and insults. The case took place in Missouri, United States. On her body, it was written “Do not feed this dog”.
Leslie, as the animal is called, lives loose on the street, which is why she was rescued by the police in the area and sent to an NGO. Insults to your own body, while problematic, are not illegal.
The dog was sent to an animal rescue society, called Rescue One, whose first action was to give Leslie a bath to rid her of the drawings.
“Leslie is going to take a shower to wash away all the hate. We only accept love here,” they said, in an interview with Fox. “She loves playing with other dogs and is a very friendly dog. I’m glad the police rescued her and we can be a part of this story by finding Leslie a new home.”
Leslie is currently with a foster family and will be available for adoption next month. However, the volunteers weren’t able to remove all of the graphics from her skin, which should disappear with time and a bathing routine.
