About 700,000 workers have yet to withdraw their salary bonuses, which will only be available for a short period.

By the end of August 2024, approximately 723,000 workers had not yet withdrawn the PIS-Pasep salary bonus for the base year 2022.

This subsidy, which can amount to the minimum wage, forms a significant part of the salaries of workers who meet certain requirements, ensuring significant financial relief.

In other words, not withdrawing from this feature means that more than 280 million riyals are still available.

The deadline for making the withdrawal ends this year, after which date the amounts still in the public accounts will return to the Workers’ Support Fund (FAT).

More than 700 thousand workers can withdraw the salary bonus

Initially, workers who have not yet withdrawn their salary bonus will have the opportunity to do so until the end of December.

This benefit is available to both private sector workers and public sector employees, as long as they meet the specified requirements. They are:

  • First, private sector workers registered with PIS and public employees registered with Pasep.
  • After that, the worker must have a formal contract for at least 30 days in 2022.
  • The average wage during the base year may not exceed the minimum wage per month.
  • The employer must have correctly submitted the worker’s information to the Annual Social Information List (Rais) or to eSocial.
  • The worker must have been registered with PIS or Pasep for at least five years.

These are the basic criteria to ensure that they receive a salary bonus, and it is essential for workers to check their eligibility.

How to withdraw PIS/Pasep?

Workers who have not yet withdrawn their PIS/Pasep should pay attention to the deadline, which is December 27, 2024. Check out the withdrawal options below:

  1. Through a checking or savings account: For those who have an account with Caixa Econômica Federal (in the case of PIS) or Banco do Brasil (in the case of Pasep), the value is automatically reduced. Please check your account to confirm receipt.

  5. Transport via TED: For public employees who receive Pasep, withdrawals can be made via TED transfer at self-service terminals or via the Banco do Brasil website.

Finally, it is worth noting that workers have until December 27, 2024 to make the withdrawal.

After this date, the amounts pending withdrawal will return to FAT, and it will be necessary to contact the Ministry of Labor to request a refund later.
