British Airways is adding thousands of additional routes to key routes from the US and EU to the UK, following growing interest in traveling to London, with the UK government announcing that it will remove restrictions on fully vaccinated US and EU customers.

Within hours of the UK government’s latest announcement, mainly from cities such as New York and Los Angeles, as well as European cities such as Berlin, Geneva and Hamburg, British Airways’ US bookings have increased by 95%.

Flights between New York-JFK and London Heathrow will increase to 21 services per week (from week 17), to Los Angeles and Chicago to week 10 from August 16 (week 7). From August 23, flights between Seattle and London Heathrow will increase to 7 services per week (from 4 per week) and Los Angeles to 14 per week. The British also plan to continue expanding its schedule between the United States and the United Kingdom in September.

Additional flights will also be added from European cities such as Berlin, Geneva and Hamburg, and “schedules will be constantly revised to ensure that the number of available seats matches the customer’s interest”.

“We look forward to welcoming new U.S. and EU visitors to the UK next week, many of whom will be reunited with their families for the first time in several months.
