After another day at the Tokyo Olympics, China leads the medal table with Japan and the United States in third place. However, according to the American media, the United States leads the Olympics. This is because local newspapers and broadcasters use their own rankings to organize delegates by the number of gold medals, not by the total number of medals, as the International Olympic Committee does.

After the Beijing Games in 1008, China led by IOC standards in the number of gold medals, the NYC Times and the broadcasters who broadcast the Tokyo Olympics in the United States accepted a different picture, but more in the United States.

On the web, Internet users played with the medal table used by Americans and developed their own criteria for keeping their country at the top of the rankings. An Australian fan, for example, used the number of medals divided by the country’s population. Others criticized the vehicles for accepting unofficial ratings.
